Outgoing interns and 10 Revolutions in the bag!
Tuesday was worthy of a celebration which is why you see me in the pub with Jeff, beer in hand.
We said goodbye to two young interns, Zane and George (also in the picture), who have worked with us over the summer supporting our NEET research and getting the paper closer to publication.
Their enthusiasm and dedication has been commendable and we wish them well in their next chapter.
Another huge milestone was completed, we finished recording our 10 Revolutions podcast series!
I never could have imagined how much effort it would take to organise and record 10 conversations. However, the payoff has been worth the effort and I am honoured and humbled to be part of a network of purposeful people making a big impact in their community and beyond.
In fact community and social support are themes that have recurred time and again from Community Wealth building with Wongani, Rob building Neya to connect people in their local communities and Tuesday's guests Phil Chapman and Micah Hayns from the Jungle, a non-profit and space dedicated to community, friendship and creativity. Founded, initially as a space for Micah to display his artwork (which he still does) the Jungle became a safe space where people from all walks of life (including abuse victims and recovering addicts) can go to belong, feel heard in a non-judgmental safe space and build meaningful relationships.
I'm looking forward to this one going out, as the last episode on 8th October.
Big thanks to all the guests and a big thank you to Ollie for hosting us at Cowley Road Studios, Stan for the professional editing, Levi for the regular and great looking episode posts and to Jeff for anchoring it all together with a voice clearly built for the air waves!
I don't know when or what season 2 will look like but it will be fun to do it again and it should be that little bit easier. I've certainly learnt a lot in the process, become a better listener, better at asking questions, holding space and being curious. All valuable life skill.
